Mindset and Confidence Coaching for Schools

Helping your pupils grow in confidence, emotional resilience and self-leadership – through assemblies, workshops, small-group and 1:1 coaching.

Today’s pupils are growing up in a world of constant noise, pressure and comparison. Many are doing their best to cope with big emotions, friendship friction, academic stress and online influences that previous generations never faced. Schools are working harder than ever to support them, but time and capacity are limited.

Identity Coaching partners with schools to provide structured, child-centred mindset and confidence coaching – so pupils can build the inner tools they need to thrive in and beyond school life.

How I work with schools

Whole-school approach, targeted support and 1:1 coaching

Every school is different — but the challenges pupils face are remarkably consistent. Whether it’s confidence, emotional regulation, social dynamics or readiness to learn, schools are being stretched to meet needs that now show up earlier, more intensely, and more widely.

My role is to extend your school’s capacity, not replace what you already do.

I offer half-day and full-day bookings that can be shaped around your timetable and your priorities, using a mix of:

  • Assemblies that introduce shared language and mindset tools across a whole year group

  • Workshops for classes or form groups on resilience, confidence, emotional mastery or friendships

  • Small-group coaching for pupils who would benefit from guided support and accountability

  • 1:1 coaching for children needing focussed SEMH intervention delivered with warmth and clarity

Some schools use a full day for broad culture-building; others use it to target specific pupils. You choose the focus — and I design the day to deliver maximum impact where you need it most.

Starting with a Pilot

For schools exploring this kind of support for the first time, work often begins as a small pilot. This allows the focus, format and cohort to be agreed collaboratively, and gives space to see how the support fits within existing pastoral provision before any wider commitment.

How time in school is used

Time in school is planned collaboratively so that support is focused where it will make the greatest difference for your pupils and staff. Session content is then designed by me based on your priorities and the needs of the pupils involved.

Full Day – £400

A full day is typically used for a mix of 1:1 pupil sessions, small-group work, and one wider activity (such as a workshop or assembly), depending on your school’s priorities. Here are the things that mix is made from:

  • A mindset or confidence assembly for a year group or key stage

  • One or more workshops for whole classes or form groups

  • Small-group coaching sessions (for example: anxiety, confidence, friendships, exam stress)

  • 1:1 coaching slots for identified pupils

  • A short staff Q&A on how to reinforce the tools in school

  • An optional parent session or drop-in (where timings allow)

Half Day – £200

A half day provides a focused block of time for a small number of pupils, or one wider activity with follow-up support. Here are the ways that focused time is usually spent:

  • A workshop or mini-assembly

  • Small-group coaching

  • 1:1 coaching sessions

  • Follow-up sessions for pupils who have attended a previous day

On each booking, we agree the focus and mix in advance so the time is used where it will make the greatest difference for your pupils and staff.

Single Session - £100

A single coaching session can be booked for one pupil or a small group where a school would like to trial the approach or provide targeted support for a specific need.

This is often used as:

  • a starting point before a pilot

  • a follow-up after a previous day

  • or focused support for an individual pupil

(Travel costs may be added for schools outside the Coventry/Warwickshire area, depending on distance)

Themes and pupil needs I can help with

All sessions are drawn from my structured, developmentally-informed coaching framework, adapted for school settings and age ranges. Common themes include:

  • Emotional regulation and self-leadership
Understanding how the brain works on “autopilot”, naming emotions, dealing with big feelings, Circle of Control, calming strategies.

  • Confidence, identity and independence
Self-belief, values and identity, comparison culture and social media, peer pressure, learning to think for yourself.

  • Friendships and social harmony
Healthy friendships and boundaries, empathy, dealing with conflict, seeing situations from different perspectives.

  • Resilience, stress and exam pressure
Comfort, growth and threat zones, handling setbacks, perfectionism and fear of failure, practical tools for exam stress.

Schools often come to me with specific concerns such as:

  • Persistent anxiety or worry

  • Low self-esteem or reluctance to engage

  • Friendship fallouts or social friction

  • Emotional “meltdowns” or shutdowns

  • High-ability pupils struggling under pressure

  • Transition years (Year 6 to 7, or pre-GCSE)

  • Exam-based anxiety

We use your existing knowledge of the pupils and your school’s priorities to choose a focus that fits.

Full 1:1 coaching programme funded by school

For a small number of pupils, a one-off session or short block isn’t enough. In these cases, schools can commission my full 1:1 coaching programme as a structured SEMH intervention.

This typically includes:

  • An agreed number of weekly 1:1 sessions (online or in school, depending on location)

  • A clear focus agreed with the school (and parents where appropriate)

  • Tools drawn from my full coaching programme.

  • Check-ins with key staff so strategies are reinforced in school

  • A brief written summary at the end of the intervention if required

This can be funded through pupil premium, SEMH budgets or other inclusion funding, depending on your context.

These interventions are particularly helpful for pupils whose needs sit between universal pastoral care and clinical services.

Why work with Identity Coaching

Educationally grounded, emotionally safe

Schools trust this work because it blends educational experience, safeguarding rigour and a clear, structured coaching approach.

  • Qualified teacher, experienced with a wide range of ages, learning needs and behavioural presentations.

  • Specialist in confidence, resilience and emotional mastery, grounded in child development rather than clinical labels.

  • Practical, tools-based approach that pupils remember and use long after the session ends.

  • Flexible delivery, adapted to your timetable, priorities and safeguarding requirements.

  • Professional and reliable, with enhanced DBS, insurance and clear communication throughout.

My aim is simple: to support your pupils in becoming confident, grounded and future-ready — and to make your staff’s job easier in the process.
